So they turned to us to communicate this value to their customers. With a new client comes a ground-up creative process and the team at 8x8 was ready to push the limits on motion graphics. What we achieved was a video that appeals to anyone that needs better communication, specifically more voice…video…or chat in their lives.

    DROPBOX USER TESTIMONIALS DROPBOX FOR FOOTBALL?! West and Dropbox approached Bonfire Labs to create videos that would showcase the unusual ways that Dropbox could be used. From a pool of more than 4,500 possible user candidates, the team from Bonfire Labs worked with director Amanda Micheli to pick three compelling stories. In the breakneck timeframe of 3 1/2 weeks, Bonfire cast, shot, edited, and finished all three videos – with principal talent in Ohio, Portland, and Montreal. Two crews, lots of Skypes, and a considerable amount of Red Bull™ resulted in three great stories: Clark, Eva, and Gilles.

    WEED GREW UP HERE OCCIDENTAL HILLS Where the Bohemian Highway meets miles of thick redwoods, there’s a little town called Occidental. Believed to be the birthplace of marijuana, this is where the gold rush met the green rush, and the pioneers of the cannabis industry set down their roots to grow, and harvest bud after bud with pride. The town’s namesake, and premium cannabis brand, Occidental Hills , sought to tell their story of rich, hidden history. So we went way back—nearly 200 years back—to uncover the history of this little town and how of all places., weed grew up here . ​ So we turned Instagram into a newspaper, releasing a semi-weekly paper, “The Occidental Gazette,” to dish out the hot tea of 1800s Occidental scoundrels, hooligans and of course, the sweet, sweet smell of that Northern California green. Working with a historian, aka Occidental’s token fan boy, we got the jist of this little town’s past—the feuds, romances, business affairs, and affairs—all the culture that grew that sweet bud. From there, we hit the town, and made friends with Joanne at the local library on Main Street, as we scoured databases of 1800s photographs, journals and town papers.     TIPPING POINT MADE BY THE BAY If our residents aren’t inspired, proud, and hopeful about the place we call home, they won’t be invested in the future of our community. A rising tide of negative press about the Bay Area (Texodus! crime! income inequality! school boards!) was only amplified by the pandemic. For a philanthropic organization focused on addressing exactly these issues, it’s an existential threat. So what Tipping Point needed was what we all needed, a reminder of what makes the Bay Area so unique, so wonderful - that special combination of people and place that can only be Made by the Bay. With the California cannabis industry booming, it’s a rush to market for who can garner the attention of not just customers, retailers and partners, but also investors. And to come out on top, a company needs a clear brand narrative that’s credible, unique and memorable. Over the course of six months, we partnered with NorCal’s internal marketing team to build a brand from the ground up, from branding guidelines to film to social channels and event marketing, we touched every component of elevating NorCal’s reputation across the country.
